“What I have always enjoyed is the visual storytelling required to convey new ideas…”
What did you do prior to ICD that makes you particularly good at what you do?
I’ve been in the new technology sector for many…okay forever. What I have always enjoyed is the visual storytelling required to convey new ideas, using familiar concepts and reconfiguring them to not only explain how it works, but why it makes things better. When I was asked to help visualize ICD’s new independent trading portal over 10 years ago, it sounded like fun. One of the better decisions in my life.
What do you like about working at ICD? What makes ICD a great place to work?
I’ve been a part of many initiatives. Whether it be a product launch, an industry event or a marketing campaign, it’s satisfying knowing that each department involved is giving their best. It’s a given, and the results show it.
Tell me about something you worked on that made you particularly proud or gratified.
I definitely enjoy working on the annual AFP Conference. It’s a monumental task, a company-wide effort that requires the team to hum on all cylinders. Seeing my contribution – the booth design, video components, marketing materials, website and graphics for the epic ICD party – being brought to life and employed by the skilled executive, sales and technology teams is extremely gratifying.
How has your career grown or evolved at ICD?
As a long-time participant, I’ve experienced this company grow by leaps and bounds. I’ve seen newcomers thrive to the point where we all wonder, “How did we ever exist without them?” A killer marketing team has emerged around me – the best one of my career.
What would you want prospective employees to know about building a career at ICD?
We only have room for one of anybody, so be sure to bring just yourself. Then you’re welcome to grow as big as you want.
